Notifications
Pixy will notify you of some actions and activity through Snapchat or push notifications.
Capture complete
When Pixy has finished with its capture, you will receive a notification letting you know how many Snaps were captured and ready to import.
Take off failed
If takeoff fails you may be notified in the app as to what happened, and what you can do to get in the air next time.
Face the Camera
Along with being flat in the palm of your hand and at eye level, Pixy needs to see your face. You should be looking at the camera on the front of Pixy through take off.
Low battery - if you receive this notification you’ll need to put Pixy on charge, or swap the batter for a charged one to make the next flight.
Hold it steady - This notification appears when there’s significant motion after the start button is pressed. Make sure your hand is steady and level when you’re ready for take off.
Wind detected - If Pixy detects wind and motion it may stop the flight. Wait for the wind to calm before trying another flight.
Can’t track the flight path - You’ll get this error if Pixy has a problem with its sensor. You can try again immediately, and if you get the same notification please reset Pixy by carefully removing the battery and replacing it.
Software update required - On occasion we will release updates for Pixy that must be completed before a flight can be made. Click the notification to update Pixy, or read more here.
Storage full - You’ll see this if there is no room left to take more Snaps, you’ll need to import before you can take another flight. You may also see this message during a flight, if that happens Pixy will cancel the current flightpath and land. To avoid this happening make sure you import regularly!
Tap to calibrate - Calibration is sometimes required to ensure Pixy can navigate the world as intended. If you see this notification click through to complete the calibration.
Too hot / too cold - Pixy is designed to work in moderate temperatures, if you receive this notification Pixy will not fly until it is returned to normal temperatures.
Too close to the ground - You’ll receive this notification if Pixy identifies that it is too close to the ground in the first 3 seconds of its flight. If this happens it will cancel the flight immediately and land.
