Pixy Landed Unexpectedly
Pixy uses its two cameras to navigate, if something is preventing it from calculating its position it may abort a flight and complete a controlled landing.
Remember that this will occur wherever it is at the time, even if that means into water or some other area that isn’t accessible.
This can happen:
- In low light such as dawn or dusk, or when it moves from bright light to shade (and visa versa).
- If Pixy is unable to complete its flight path due to a low battery
- If Pixy is unable to calculate its altitude, for instance when flying over a surface with no visual texture like water, a mirror or highly polished floor, or a steep drop like rooftops or cliffs.
- If the wind picks up during flight. You should be able to tell if the wind is too high as Pixy won’t be as stable in flight as normal.
In normal use Pixy should always make a controlled landing. If Pixy bumps into something during flight and it causes the battery to dislodge, it will immediately fall.
