Pixy Flight Paths
Using the dial on top of Pixy you can select the flightpath you want it to take. Each flightpath has a default settings (shown in bold below), some of which (like the flight duration, or type of content taken) can be edited in the Pixy settings.
With a fully charged battery Pixy can make 5-8 flights using the default flight modes. The longer the flight path you select the more often you’ll need to recharge. Orbit and Follow are the longest flight paths (they can be adjusted to make them shorter in settings). For example, Hover can be set to 10 seconds for the shortest flight, so will give you the most flights before recharging.
Select a flight mode and the LED will blink green to show Pixy is ready to take off (or land), and a white LED will flash to show that Pixy is currently recording.
Before any flight, make sure you have enough space around you, and that you have the right weather conditions: dry, calm air and well lit.
Keep Pixy at eye level, away from your hair, keep it steady, press the Start button, and watch as it takes flight.
Orbit and Reveal are designed to come back to you. The green LED will turn on when it is ready to land and then place a hand under Pixy.
If you put a hand under while the white LEDs are blinking, the sensor to detect distance to the ground will make Pixy rise higher in the air. Do not grab it out of the air.
Hover and Follow are designed to fly with you. You can put your hand under at any time and it will land.
When it first takes flight Pixy will be looking to center you in the frame for the images. In this first second or two it won’t be recording, but it will be looking for you, so be sure to stay still and look at the camera.
Hover
Let’s Hover together! Pixy takes off from your hand and hovers in front of you as your personal photographer.
Customize Hover
Flight duration: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or 60 seconds
Select photos, videos or photos and videos
Keep tracking on, or turn it off
Orbit
Let’s Orbit! Pixy takes off from your hand and will orbit around you in a circle. To use Orbit, you will need at least 8-9ft of space in all directions around you.
Customize Orbit
Distance from you: 1.5, 2.5 or 4.5 meters (5ft 8ft 15ft)
Select video or photos and video
When Pixy has finished this path it will return to you. If you attempt to land Pixy on your hand before the green LEDs are flashing for the end of the flight Pixy will react to the change in altitude it registers by rising higher into the air. Do not grab it out of the air. Pixy will adjust and continue the flight, but you can make Pixy land sooner in-app through Memories, which will make Pixy return to its original launch point.
Reveal
Let’s Reveal some magic! Pixy will fly back to reveal you in your world. To use Reveal, you will need a minimum of 10ft of space in front of you.
Customize Reveal
Distance Pixy will fly from you: 3, 6 or 9 meters (10ft 20ft 30ft)
Select photos, video or photos and videos

Follow
Let’s Follow you on an adventure! Pixy will follow you as you explore the world. Pixy will be following you a short distance away (approximate 2-3m), and remember not to go too fast so it can keep up!
Customize Follow
Flight duration: 30 or 60 seconds
Favorite
The 5th flightpath is for you to add a favorite variation to Pixy. By default it will complete a 10 second Hover in photo-only mode but you can change a lot of that in settings!
Manually Land a Flight
If you need to stop your flight before it completes you can do this in Snap in Memories, using the Land feature. Pixy will react differently to this action depending on the flight in progress. Selecting Land in Memories for Follow or Hover will cause Pixy to land immediately, the same process for Reveal or Orbit will make Pixy return to its original launch position - you can’t make it land earlier, and remember that if you have moved the original launch point might be on the other side of you.
