Other Safety Precautions
When preparing for flight, make sure you hold Pixy at eye level, with your arm outstretched, when launching. Make sure you keep your fingers, clothes, and hair away from Pixy during takeoff, flight, and landing. We would also recommend tying back long hair to reduce the risk of accidents.
Give Pixy enough space to fly safely. Find an area away from any restricted areas (such as airports), trees, buildings, and crowds. Different flight modes need different amounts of space. You can check appropriate distances in your Pixy settings.
Make sure you hold Pixy out in your flat palm, and do not grab Pixy from mid-air.
Don’t fly Pixy over cliffs or steep drop-offs (such as the roof of buildings). Because Pixy uses the camera underneath it to find the ground and navigate the flightpath, a sudden drop-off may result in unpredictable flight or the flight aborting and landing immediately (even if that is into a potentially inaccessible area).
Don’t fly Pixy in windy conditions, as Pixy’s lightweight size makes it sensitive to wind. Also, don’t fly Pixy in low light conditions, like dusk or dawn, as Pixy needs to be able to see both you and the ground to fly.
Make sure you keep Pixy clean, and keep sand, dirt and dust from getting in your Pixy. For example, avoid landing in dirt and sand. If Pixy does land in sand or anything else that could cause something to get into the propeller blades, make sure you clean Pixy before your next flight.
And finally, make sure you stay safe while flying and understand any applicable laws or regulations where you fly.
